CES 2024 was significant not only for the electric vehicle industry but also for electric scooters and bicycles. The event saw many new companies entering the market with innovative products aiming to meet the evolving needs of urban commuters and e-bike enthusiasts. For example, a new startup called Tezeus showcased the C8, a carbon e-bike with smart features.
The C8 features a minimalist design with a lightweight carbon fiber frame and advanced electronics focused on connectivity. It has a large touchscreen display on the handlebars with features like Google Maps and smartphone pairing. The C8 is positioned as a premium commuter e-bike due to its connectivity and lightweight design, claiming a weight of only 15 kilograms (approximately 33 pounds).
The C8 boasts a proprietary hub motor delivering a claimed 60 Nm of torque and weighing in at 2.6 kilograms (about 5.7 pounds). It has an adaptive pedal assistance system designed for a natural feel and a single-speed belt drive for quieter and less maintenance. Additionally, the bike features hydraulic brakes with internally routed hoses for a cleaner look.
Beyond its carbon frame, the Tezeus C8’s key feature is its technology. It utilizes a proprietary Linux-based operating system and offers GPS navigation through Google Maps integration. There’s also an anti-theft alert system and an electronic battery unlock via a mobile app, ensuring battery security. For safety, the bike includes a light to alert riders of approaching vehicles from behind.
The base price for the Tezeus C8 is around $3,960 USD, and the company plans to begin deliveries in April 2024, targeting both the US and European markets. The bike has received endorsements from industry figures like BMX champion Connor Fields and former professional footballer Michael Owen.
However, Tezeus is a relatively new and somewhat mysterious company, based in Hong Kong. Details about its investors, warranty information, reseller networks, and maintenance services are currently unavailable. More information can be found on the company’s Indiegogo page. It’s important to exercise caution when purchasing products from startups.

I’m Rohan Mehta, the voice behind KhelRe—a trusted and steadily growing blog dedicated to electric vehicles (EVs) in India. With over five years of experience as a tech and automotive blogger, I turned my frustrations with owning an EV into a mission: to help others make more intelligent choices in this fast-evolving world of electric mobility.
I’ve been an early adopter of EV technology—I repurchased my first electric scooter in 2019. That experience opened my eyes to both the promises and the pitfalls of this new mode of transport. From slow charging times and range anxiety to misleading specs and hidden costs, I’ve faced it all. But instead of walking away, I decided to write about it.
That’s how KhelRe was born—a no-nonsense, hands-on blog where I share practical, real-world reviews of EV cars, bikes, and scooters. I break down features, range, performance, and pricing from a user-first perspective. I take pride in simplifying complex tech into clear, valuable insights—offering tips, ownership stories, and advice you won’t find in flashy press releases or sales brochures.
Whether you’re a first-time EV buyer or just a curious auto enthusiast, my goal is to help you navigate the EV landscape with confidence. My motto: “EV knowledge should come from experience, not just brochures.”
When I’m not test-driving the latest e-scooter or comparing charging networks, you’ll probably find me tinkering with my garage EV setup, chatting with fellow enthusiasts online, or sipping chai while writing my next blog post from a cosy local café.
