Engwe P275: A Premium Urban Commuter

Engwe is an electric bike brand focused on making e-bikes accessible to everyone. Based in the UK, they offer a wide range of models, many designed for commuting and weekend off-road rides. A key factor is affordability, with all their bikes retailing for under $2,000 USD.

Engwe has recently introduced its latest model, the P275. Described as their most premium offering, it boasts features for both comfort and efficiency. This includes a Selle Royal saddle and an air-lifting seat post for adjustable comfort. The P275 also features a frame-integrated luggage carrier and a sleek, futuristic frame design. It is available in both step-through and step-over frame styles to suit a variety of riders.

Performance

The P275 utilizes a Bafang motor with an integrated torque sensor, providing tailored pedal assistance. The 70 Nm of torque enables climbing steep hills, while the 250-watt output meets European e-bike regulations. An easy-to-read LED display shows important riding information.

Pedaling power is transferred to the rear wheel via a silent and maintenance-free Gates carbon belt drive. The ST model features a three-speed automatic geared hub, while the Pro model uses a chain-driven Shimano nine-speed drivetrain. The P275 is equipped with a large Samsung 19.2-ampere-hour battery, offering up to 150 kilometers (93 miles) on a single charge, and five levels of pedal assistance.

Capacity and Colors

The new Engwe P275 has a payload capacity of 264 pounds. While not a cargo bike, it’s suitable for carrying yourself and daily essentials in comfort and style. It will be available in Pro model black and black/orange, and ST model white and white/orange colorways. Pricing has not yet been announced, but a European launch is expected soon.

I'm Rohan Mehta, the voice behind KhelRe—a trusted and steadily growing blog dedicated to electric vehicles (EVs) in India. With over five years of experience as a tech and automotive blogger, I turned my frustrations with owning an EV into a mission: to help others make more intelligent choices in this fast-evolving world of electric mobility. I've been an early adopter of EV technology—I repurchased my first electric scooter in 2019. That experience opened my eyes to both the promises and the pitfalls of this new mode of transport. From slow charging times and range anxiety to misleading specs and hidden costs, I've faced it all. But instead of walking away, I decided to write about it. That's how KhelRe was born—a no-nonsense, hands-on blog where I share practical, real-world reviews of EV cars, bikes, and scooters. I break down features, range, performance, and pricing from a user-first perspective. I take pride in simplifying complex tech into clear, valuable insights—offering tips, ownership stories, and advice you won't find in flashy press releases or sales brochures. Whether you're a first-time EV buyer or just a curious auto enthusiast, my goal is to help you navigate the EV landscape with confidence. My motto: "EV knowledge should come from experience, not just brochures." When I'm not test-driving the latest e-scooter or comparing charging networks, you'll probably find me tinkering with my garage EV setup, chatting with fellow enthusiasts online, or sipping chai while writing my next blog post from a cosy local café.
