Rivian to open AI Hub in the UK

American electric vehicle company Rivian is expanding its operations to the UK. The company aims to attract skilled engineers in the field of artificial intelligence.

Rivian is a growing EV brand. They are opening more offices as their line of electric trucks and SUVs expands. The company is based in Palo Alto, California, and has a main production plant in Normal, Illinois. They also plan to build a second factory about 40 minutes outside of Atlanta, Georgia.

Rivian currently has offices in Irvine and Carson, California; Wittmann, Arizona; and Plymouth, Michigan. They also have offices in Vancouver, Canada; Amsterdam, Netherlands; and Belgrade, Serbia.

This morning, Rivian announced a new office in London, UK. This office will focus on developing artificial intelligence technology for its vehicles.

Rivian to open AI Hub in the UK

Rivian announced that the UK is becoming a major center for artificial intelligence engineering. They are opening a new international office to tap into this talent.

Rivian’s current technology allows drivers to use hands-free driving on highways. However, the company plans to continue developing this technology to enable more autonomous driving.

Rivian said that its second-generation electric vehicles were designed with an “AI-centric” approach. As their new vehicles are developed, they are collecting more data to improve their advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) technology.

Rivian believes that the combination of its perception technology and vehicle data will enable it to build a large driving model. This will help them understand complex driving situations and accelerate the development of safer, more capable self-driving features.

Rivian stated that the future work at the UK AI hub will allow their vehicles to improve through over-the-air (OTA) software updates. They plan to host an “AI and Autonomy Day” later this year and will share more details about their technology plans.

I'm Rohan Mehta, the voice behind KhelRe—a trusted and steadily growing blog dedicated to electric vehicles (EVs) in India. With over five years of experience as a tech and automotive blogger, I turned my frustrations with owning an EV into a mission: to help others make more intelligent choices in this fast-evolving world of electric mobility. I've been an early adopter of EV technology—I repurchased my first electric scooter in 2019. That experience opened my eyes to both the promises and the pitfalls of this new mode of transport. From slow charging times and range anxiety to misleading specs and hidden costs, I've faced it all. But instead of walking away, I decided to write about it. That's how KhelRe was born—a no-nonsense, hands-on blog where I share practical, real-world reviews of EV cars, bikes, and scooters. I break down features, range, performance, and pricing from a user-first perspective. I take pride in simplifying complex tech into clear, valuable insights—offering tips, ownership stories, and advice you won't find in flashy press releases or sales brochures. Whether you're a first-time EV buyer or just a curious auto enthusiast, my goal is to help you navigate the EV landscape with confidence. My motto: "EV knowledge should come from experience, not just brochures." When I'm not test-driving the latest e-scooter or comparing charging networks, you'll probably find me tinkering with my garage EV setup, chatting with fellow enthusiasts online, or sipping chai while writing my next blog post from a cosy local café.
